Friday, November 13, 2009. Did I ever tell you the story about the grizzly? It was many seasons ago, back when I was still in my prime and Sammy was just an exuberant young juvenile delinquent. We were out on a hike, deep into the backcountry. On an early autumn day with the humans. I like to walk anywhere and it always puzzled me as to the reason they would load us into the truck and drive for an hour just to do what we could have done right out our front door. Strange, these humans are.
Sunday, January 04, 2015. A Confession and an Apology. I suppose there is always a risk when a pastor airs his own dirty laundry for all to see, but hopefully there are lessons for both this pastor as well as for the congregation of which he is the under-shepherd. Everything began earlier in the week. All week I had been wrestling with my message on irresistible grace and kept sensing that there was something else I needed to address. Little things were discouraging me, but I pressed on.
